Call to Order: Our president, Tonia Cormier presided of the regular meeting of ABWA SWAPEN Express Network, which was held on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sugar Creek Country Club. There were a total of 23 attendees, 16 members and 7 guests present.

Annual Theme: "Share the Power"

Recognition: Tonia welcomed our guest and recognized Woman of the Year, Bonnie Schexnayder; Woman of Excellence & Sponsor, Jane Spellman and Sponsor Suzette Peoples. Suzette was also recognized as on the Top Ten Candidates.

Minutes: Thomasine Johnson, VP of Communication, placed February 20, 2007 minutes on each table. The minutes were approved.

Treasurers Report: The Treasurer, Jane Spellman distributed the February Treasurer's Report.

Program: Joyce Strimple, VP of Programming, introduced the guest speaker for today, Pamela C. Grant, an International Business Consultant, Coach, Career Counselor.

Topic: "Life Strategies for Success"

Introductions: Each member and guest introduced themselves and their business to the group.

Give Away Sponsor: Suzette Peoples sponsored the give away gift and Carol Staples was the winner.

Business: Upcoming applications: Karen Poynter, led the discussion for the 2007 award applications for Top Ten, and Woman of Excellence. Debby Albright is chairing the nomination committee.

Membership Drive: Jane Spellman announced the SWAPEN Membership Drive. Invite other women to become a part of ABWA this spring, and you'll be giving them a ready-made opportunity for extreme success. Sponsor 3-6 new members during the campaign and you'll receive an elegant cheese board and knife set; recruit 7 or more members and you'll also receive a stylish wine tote and handy accessories.
If you sponsor 3+ new members and receive your 2007-2008 SWAPEN dues paid. If more than one person qualifies there will be a drawing. Headquarter also sends additional rewards

2006 Woman of Year Presentation: Beth Tabak is our 2006 Woman of the Year and Karen Poynter did the presentation and also gave Beth a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

New President Elect: Tonia Cormier installed our new 2007 President Elect, Joyce Strimple. Tonia also thanked Karen Poynter for her past service as President Elect.

Newsletter: We are planning to have our newsletter for April. Members are asked to send news to Thomasine Johnson.

Announcements: Suzette Peoples announced the LAUREN meeting March 21, 2007.
HAC will have networking tables at the next meeting. Check website for info.
