Call to Order: Our president, Tonia Cormier presided of the regular meeting of ABWA SWAPEN Express Network, which was held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sugar Creek Country Club. There were a total of 32 attendees, 16 members and 16 guests present.

Recognition: Tonia welcomed our guest and recognized Woman of the Year, Beth Tabak. Jane Spellman gave an overview on her experience of Woman of Excellence. Karen Poynter announced our 2007 Woman of Excellence "Tonia Cormier".
Annual Theme: "Share the Power"

Minutes: Thomasine Johnson, VP of Communication, placed last months minutes on each table. The minutes were approved.

Treasurers Report: The Treasurer, Jane Spellman distributed the March Treasurer's Report.

Introductions: Each member and our distinguished guest introduced themselves and their business to the group.

Program: Joyce Strimple, VP of Programming, introduced the guest speaker for today, Kay Haugen, a motivational speaker and author of "From the Poor House to the Penthouse.

Topic: "Focus and Succeed"
Highlight: Kay showed why and how daily focus on clearly defined goals causes radical success to occur in uncommon hours.

Give Away Sponsor: Patsy Stikeleather presented the give-away which was sponsored by Nichole Hernandez.

Business: SBMF Scholarship: Karen Poynter and Suzette Peoples, led the discussion for the scholarship and the deadline is 5-15-07.

Membership Drive: Jane Spellman announced the SWAPEN Membership Drive. Invite other women to become a part of ABWA this spring, and you'll be giving them a ready-made opportunity for extreme success. Sponsor 3-6 new members during the campaign and you'll receive an elegant cheese board and knife set; recruit 7 or more members and you'll also receive a stylish wine tote and handy accessories.
If you sponsor 3+ new members and receive your 2007-2008 SWAPEN dues paid. If more than one person qualifies there will be a drawing. Headquarter also sends additional rewards

Newsletter: Beth Tabak and Thomasine Johnson are working on the SWAPEN newsletter and asked for member support.

Announcements: Suzette Peoples announced the LORREN meeting May 17, 2007.
HAC next meeting is April 26, 2007. Check website for info.
Speaker for next month is Ruth Garnes.

Meeting Theme: Bring your daughter or special person to meeting.
