Call to Order: Our president, Tonia Cormier presided of the regular meeting of ABWA SWAPEN Express Network, which was held on Tuesday, April 15, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sugar Creek Country Club. There were a total of 24 attendees, 14 members and 10 guests present.

Recognition: Tonia (our 2007 Woman of Excellence) welcomed our guest and recognized: Woman of the Year, Beth Tabak and Suzette Peoples as our Top Ten Candidate

Annual Theme: "Share the Power"

Minutes: Thomasine Johnson, VP of Communication, placed last months minutes on each table. The minutes were approved.

Treasurers Report: The Treasurer, Jane Spellman distributed the April Treasurer's Report.

Introductions: Each member and our distinguished guest introduced themselves and their business to the group. Three of our guest joined today. Welcome Kathy Jacobs, Shelita Kimble and Carol Staples.

Program: Joyce Strimple, VP of Programming, introduced the guest speaker for today, Ruth Garnes, a registered nurse, a wife, a mother of 7 and a published author.

Topic: "Reality"

Give Away Sponsor: Patsy Stikeleather presented the give-away which was sponsored by Maggie Ming.

Business: Special Presentation: Debbie Albright made a special presentation to Samyra Smith and Elva Ayla for serving as judges of our Woman of Excellence Nominating Committee.

Friendship Pin Presentation: Tonia presented the distinguished "Friendship Pin" to Jane Spellman for her sponsorship of new members.

SBMF Scholarship: We do have one student for the scholarship. If there are any other students please get the information to Karen ASAP the drop deadline is near. All the information has to be in headquarters by June 1st. Suzette Peoples gave a $100.00 donation for this cause.

Woman of the Luncheon: Beth Tabak will be honored at the Woman of the Year Luncheon on June 2, 2007 at the Jr. Club. Please contact Beth if you plan to attend.

Election Nomination Committee: Beth Tabak, Shelita Kimble, Suzette Peoples and Bonnie Schnexnayder volunteered for the 2007-08 Board Nomination Committee.

Newsletter: Beth Tabak and Thomasine Johnson are working on the SWAPEN newsletter and asked for member support. Shelita Kimble volunteered to help.

Fall Cruise Presentation: Suzette Peoples presented a check for $1,116.33 to the club from the educational cruise. The money will be given the 3 club members who helped with the program. It is to be used for other educational programs.
